Discuss With Faculty Members

You should always talk with the admissions office in order to set up some time with the faculty. This allows you to learn so much more than through other sources about class sizes, teaching styles and even curriculum. Various questions can be asked and it is always recommended to ask them all. Some that you can definitely consider include:

  • What is the one thing you enjoy the most about how you teach at the school?

  • How many weekly hours will you be available for students? (Outside classes, of course)

  • What interaction will happen in the classes?

  • Are you currently active in professional associations?

  • What is the main faculty feature at this school? Is it teaching quality, prior industry experience, student’s accessibility, academic research or something completely different?

  • Do you act as a consultant in a company or industry?

  • Will evaluations be done at school and how are results used?

Review The Ratio Of Student-To-Teacher
